Hartman House at the Hogtown Creek Headwaters Nature Park

Hartman1 Historic Hartman House

We are pleased to be working with Wild Spaces & Public Places and City of Gainesville Parks Department to renovate the historic Hartman House at the Hogtown Creek Headwaters Nature Park. The foundation piers were settling due to tree removal in the 1900's when the house was constructed. The roots die off under the piers and they settle causing the house to lean and become unstable. To rebuild the piers, we had to raise the house 6' in the air to give us room to work underneath. Here is a time-lapse video of the process of raising the house. Once complete, the building will be a nature center for all to enjoy.
